The Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Welfare, Hon Fatou Kinteh on Tuesday, 24th, September 2024, delivered the opening statement of a two-day stakeholder conventing on addressing FGM in the Gambia.
This convening is organized by Equality Now in partnership with the Association of Non-Governmental Organizations in the Gambia (TANGO), The Gambia Committee on Traditional Practices Affecting Women and Children (GAMCOTRAP), and the Network Against Gender-based Violence (NGBV).
The two-day convening aims to reinforce the commitment to the Women’s Amendment Act 2015, foster collaboration among stakeholders, and strategize national and regional advocacy efforts to protect women and girls from FGM.
